As a part of our collection of interviews with coliving operators, we learned about their beginnings, but now we’re excited to hear about the incredible work they’re doing with their community and the upcoming events you can expect.

Vineyard Eladio has been organizing a variety of events and has big plans for the future, but a particularly interesting event is their well-being retreat, the Healing Journey Retreat. This retreat is designed for anyone who wants to connect with themselves and others.

In the upcoming update, Laura will be sharing more information about the Healing Journey Retreat, including dates and details about the program.

What is Healing Journey Retreat?

The Healing Journey Retreat is a transformative week-long program designed to help individuals connect with themselves on a deeper level.

Combining active meditations, individual and group treatments, and educational teachings, participants are invited to explore their bodies, emotions, and thoughts in a safe and supportive environment.

Kinesiology, Reiki, and Tantra therapeutic massage are just a few of the powerful treatments offered. Family and systemic constellations and sound healing therapy are among the transformative group sessions.

How does it build community through self-discovery?

What truly sets this retreat apart is the deep sense of community that is fostered among the participants. It is a space where individuals are encouraged to bring their authentic selves, and to open their hearts to everything they may experience.

As one participant put it, “The instructors speak to participants in the language of love and connection, creating a sense of safety and trust that is truly unparalleled.”

The Healing Journey retreat is a life-changing experience that has the power to transform individuals on a profound level.

In Coliving 1907, we like to embrace the colorful digital nomad community of Las Palmas. Most people who come to the city choose it because of how big and diverse the digital nomad network here is – it’s the biggest one in the islands.

So, instead of keeping our community closed, a few times a month, we open the doors of our coliving to the world, allowing new connections to spark.

As mid-sized coliving, we nurture a sense of family and privacy when our doors are closed. We don’t focus on creating an intensive experience with daily events, community-building activities, etc., but rather create an environment where slow and organic relationships blossom.

But, to compensate for the thigh-knit community and peacefulness, every month, we create a schedule of events and activities planned under the roof (or more often – on the rooftop) of our coliving.

We have one of the best rooftops in Las Palmas that can fit around 20 people, where we organize monthly dinners, skill-sharing events, parties, yoga sessions, etc.

We like to offer a diverse program so both our colivers and the wider network can choose what they want to participate in based on their interests, and find new people to share their interests with.

We can’t rate our own events, but what we can say is that they always end in some great conversations and new friendships. We also do this to support the digital nomad community in Las Palmas by offering free or affordable events with opportunities for learning and networking.

Every month, we typically have 2-4 events open for the public. If you’re in Las Palmas, we’d love to host you!

March Events

In March, we’re hosting 3 events open to the public in Coliving 1907.

Yoga Session

Every Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7 pm we have restorative yoga focused on stretching.

Relaxing yoga with aromatherapy on the rooftop.

The class is 10 euros (8 euros for colivers).

Mindfulness Workshop (Calm your mind)

Would you like to learn how to overcome your daily difficulties? Calming your mind by listening to your body will help you.

Mindfulness practice in which we combine breathing exercises, mindful movement through Tai-chi, DO-IN self-massage exercises, and art-therapy dynamics to enhance your creativity and introduction to Shiatsu, learning a simple sequence that will allow you to communicate with another person from your essence.

C.Y.M. is your GYM to train your mind to be in the present moment.

Classes are held fortnightly (Wednesdays) from 6 to 7 pm.

The class is 10 euros (8 euros for colivers).

Potluck Dinner

We met on the rooftop and tasted typical dishes from each country. It’s free.

Just bring some food and drink typical of your country to share together.

Even though they had a great first year, they want to continue growing and supporting local Galicia even more. That’s why iSlow will offer a number of new experiences in 2023 and we’re super excited to see them!

iSlow Coliving, 2023 season

Ines: It’s going to be one year since we opened our doors in April 2022. This has been a year full of challenges, but also full of rewarding and fulfilling experiences for us as hosts as well as our community.

During this 2023 season, we would like to use the experience we gained in 2022 to continue to focus on the family-centered approach to coliving.

This time adding specific packages that we hope will be of interest to the two main groups of colivers that make up our big coliving family:

• Solo travelers
• Families with kids

Focusing on the first group, we will be shortly launching our first pop-up coliving experience.

Hiking and Pop-up Coliving experience in Galicia

This is an all-inclusive hiking experience for 1 or 2 weeks from April-June 2023 with fellow digital nomads along the 8 stages of The Camiño Dos Faros, A Costa da Morte. The hidden gem of Galicia, Northern Spain.

The Camiño Dos Faros is a captivating hiking trail that passes all the iconic lighthouses and landmarks along A Costa da Morte in Northern Spain, a place where the sea holds a prominent role.

Who is this for?

This is a retreat-like experience for outdoor enthusiasts, avid hikers, and all those seeking to explore the wild coast of A Costa da Morte with a like-minded community of digital nomads.

Our participant’s profiles occupy a diverse range of individuals including frequent travelers, remote workers, and digital entrepreneurs.

What you’ll do

1) Hike Camino Dos Faros

You will have the opportunity to embark on an 8-stage hike along The Camiño dos Faros in the untouched coastal area of A Costa da Morte.

2) Experience coliving in Galicia

Your hiking adventure will be enriched with a community of fellow hiking enthusiasts and digital nomads.

While you enjoy the outdoors, you will be able to immerse yourself in full-board accommodation at iSlow Coliving and spend time with like-minded individuals.

3) Get Some Work Done

During your stay, you will be able to combine relaxation with productive work, without leaving your job or clients unattended. To support this, we have provided you with:

• 600 Mbps fiber optic internet connection;
• WI-FI 6 technology all around the house;
• Quiet Coworking rooms;
• Video call rooms;
• Bedrooms equipped with en-suite desks, chairs, and internet access.

4) Explore A Costa da Morte

Read below what Laura, one of the founders, said about Pitaya Festival and mark the dates for the upcoming events.

Laura: Pitaya Festival was born on a sunny Saturday in November 2021. We were chatting over brunch in a Yoga & Brunch experience we organized for a small group. All 5 founders were there. It was the right people, in the right place, at the right time. We were motivated by how well the experience went and started to brainstorm ideas on how to create a full-day experience event.

We then gathered together and through an ideation session led by one of the founders, we created Pitaya Festival.

The event was founded by 5 entrepreneur women living on the island of Lanzarote:

• Lucía – innovation lead,
• Tania – artisan and market guru,
• Marilou – yoga teacher and designer,
• Alba – yoga teacher and press manager, and
• Laura – Coliving owner and community manager.

Today, the project is run by Marilou, Alba, and Laura.

Our first event was a big success. Pitaya Festival was the first event of its kind created on the island of Lanzarote. The first edition took place on 4 December 2021. This was a time when people were eager to connect again, and so an event like Pitaya Festival was exactly what the island needed. Since then, we have done 9 festivals, celebrating our one-year anniversary last January.

The event takes place in Hotel Finca Rural La Florida, a hidden gem located in La Geria, the wine region of Lanzarote. We start the day with a yoga workshop led by two of our founders, where the participants immerse themselves in the practice, surrounded by palm trees and vines.

We then move to the hotel’s restaurant, where a vegetarian brunch is waiting for us, cooked with local ingredients.

While lunch is taking place, the artisans arrive to set up the stalls for the Artcraft Market. For each edition we have approximately 12 local brands coming to showcase their art.

The event finishes with live music.

Mission behind Pitaya Fesival

Our mission is to showcase what Lanzarote has to offer:

• Pulling together people alike. Creating a strong community of both locals and those who visit us temporarily, interested in health, gastronomy, art, and social relationships.
• Being the place in Lanzarote where both new and established artisans can present their work. Enjoying full autonomy, the brands create their own experience at the market, while organizing mini-workshops to involve the customer in the creation process.

1-year Anniversary of Pitaya Festival

Last January we celebrated our 1 year anniversary. Our aim for this edition was to show our gratitude, especially to all those who have been part of the Pitaya Festival since day 1.

We have been blessed with loads of love and support from the local community and they are our fuel to continue with the project. We offered many surprises such as a free salsa class, facilitated by the local school Ritmos Lanzarote.

Plans and schedules for 2023

We plan to continue offering the Pitaya Festival experience during this year 2023. We will organize one event per quarter, increasing our experience offering and involving more and more local agents.

Currently, we are defining and designing the next edition, which should take place in April / May.
